Festive Fayre

Christmas is a time a great activity in Burnham on Crouch with events such as Festive Fayre pictured above.

SANTA'S TOUR OF BURNHAM

Santa and Rudolph visits Burnham on the 23rd and 24th December on his tractor powered sleigh giving out sweets to all children that he meets.

His visits start at 3.15 and finish at about 7pm each night.

23rd December the visit starts at the Eves Corner area of Burnham on Crouch and then tours nearby Southminster

24th December the visit tours  the remainder of Burnham on Crouch

CAROL SERVICES AND SINGING

There is no organised door to door carol singing.

All of the churches hold several carol services as do many or the organisations.

FESTIVE FAYRE

High Street , Burnham on Crouch is closed for the Clock Tower section from the junctions to Chapel Road to the junction with Riverside Road.

The area is packed with stalls from local organisations and local traders selling christmas related items, hot drinks, chestnuts and other seasonal food items with entertainment on stage Plus of course the chance to meet Father Christmas in his Burnham base in the Clock Tower.

The event runs from 2.30pm to 6.30pm with free entry. Parking is also free on street in the surrounding area or car parks.

Festive Fayre is held on the first Saturday in December.

CIVIC CHRISTMAS TREE

The civic christmas tree is found in High Street , Burnham on Crouch opposite the Clock Tower.

A carol service and lighting ceremony are held annually usually on the evening before the Festive Fayre.

SANTA SPECIALS AT MANGAPPS RAILWAY MUSEUM

Santa specials are held at Mangapps Railway Museum on the Saturday and Sundays in December plus Christmas Eve.

Steam trains leave the museum stopping at the North Pole ( otherwise known as the station at Old Heath) where Santa is waiting.

Booking is essential as the trips are popular

SANTA SPECIAL ON CROUCH VALLEY LINE

On a Sunday in December ( usually the first Sunday) special trains leave Southminster stopping at Burnham on Crouch en route to Wickford.

Santa is on the train and his helpers organise fun and games for the whole journey.

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL

Burnham URC Church holds a Christmas Tree Festival decorated christmas trees provide a backdrop to a variety of activities in the first weekend of July

CHRISTMAS BAZAARS

Christmas bazaars and markets take place throughout November in most halls culminating in the large Festive Fayre.
