Creeksea Sailing Club

Creeksea Sailing Club was formed in 1957 to make use of a World War 2 Launch way constructed for the Naval Motor Torpedo Boats and the RAF fast pilot rescue launches on the River Crouch.

The club constructed a Race Officers/Starting hut on the riverbank  which was opened by the Prime Minister Mr Ted Heath during a visit to Burnham.

Changing rooms with hot showers and social facilities followed on land the rear of the Club house.

The race Officers Hut has become a well known landmark to people sailing on the River Crouch.

Nowadays most Club members sail single handed boats such as Phantoms for a racing program that runs at weekend and Wednesdays during the year.
