covers a large area of Eastern England. The station plays golden oldie
music.
Occasional local features.
Television
Eastern Essex is situated at the crossover point between Anglia ,
Southern and London digital television reception.
Fortunately good reception can be obtained from the transmitters from
all regions allowing choice of service.
BBC
1, BBC2 , ITV , Channel 4 and Channel 5 can all be received although
Channel 5 reception can be poor at times.
The
strongest signal is Southern but the most popular choice of residents is
to take the Anglia region reception.
Newspapers
Daily
Eastern Essex is considered part of East Anglia and as such it is given
newspaper coverage by the East Anglian Daily Times.
Rural issues relevant to this area are often discussed and specifics
feature as they arise in both news and sport.
There are two paid for weekly newspapers
The
main weekly newspaper is the Maldon and Burnham Standard whose coverage
is limited to Burnham and the Dengie Hundred plus Maldon, South Woodham
Ferrers and Tiptree.
Coverage is also provided by the Essex Chronicle whose coverage extends
to a very large area that includes Chelmsford and the whole of Mid and
Eastern Essex.
Which is best to buy ?
Locally many people consider the Maldon and Burnham Standard as better
for local news, event coverage and village notes whilst the Essex
Chronicle has a better Job availability and a larger classified ads
section. They have similar house sales coverage for this area.

Two
free newspapers are delivered monthly to every house.
