Burnham Museum
The
Burnham on Crouch & District Museum is situated on the Quay at the
junction with Coronation Road.
It
is devoted to the History of Burnham on Crouch & the Dengie Hundred
area.
The
Museum consists of two floors and a mezzanine, with
exhibits of maritime, agricultural, industrial and social
history.
The
archive contains photographs drawings and documents.
The
museum is please to receive enquiries and hope to help people or
organisations where possible.
There is a regular programme of special exhibitions.
Visits and enquiries from schools are encouraged.
There is a disabled access from the Quay and the toilet facilities are
suitable for use by disabled persons.
The
museum is owned and run by the Burnham on Crouch and District Local
History and Amenity Society.
This
is a registered charity run entirely by unpaid volunteers. It is
independent of any National or local government body.
The
Society have talks at the museum on the third Monday of the month,
except when exhibitions are being held.
There are posters for both the talks and exhibitions in the museum
notice boards and around
the town.
