Burnham Clinic is operated by Central Essex Community Services to provide a variety of clinics for the people of Burnham and the villages of the Dengie Hundred..

Appointments are required for most of the clinics. In most cases people will need to be referred by their GP for most services although a few are walk in or allow appointments to be made with reception telephone 0300 303 2621

A number of services are provided such as podiatry, community dentistry, child health and development services, health visiting, school nursing and continence advice.

Clinics times of operation can change without notice so it is worth contacting the clinic to check on the opening hours of the clinics.

Welcome

Welcome to the Burnham Community Clinic.   This guide is designed to give you information about services that are available within the Burnham and Dengie areas.

 

Patient’s Charter

The Trust is committed to the Patient’s Charter.  Your privacy, dignity, personal religious and cultural beliefs will be respected.  You will be treated with sensitivity, concern and courtesy at all times.

There is a strict No Smoking policy throughout the Clinic.

 About the Clinic

The Clinic is open from

9.00am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday

9:00am to 4:00pm Friday

7.30am Tuesday and Fridays Open for booked phlebotomy and Physiotherapy only

CLOSED FOR LUNCH FROM 12:30 – 1:30PM

 Reception Staff are available to deal with your enquiries, please report to them on arrival.

 Monday

Tuesday

Phlebotomy 7.30am – 11.50am - By appointment only

Counselling - by GP referral only

School Nurse (after School, term time only – appointment necessary)

 

Wednesday

Child Clinic with Community Paediatrician (by referral only)

Sexual Health drop in clinic 3.30pm to 5pm. appointments 6pm to 9pm (appointments from 0300 003 1212)

Thursday

Phlebotomy 1.30pm-5.30pm - by appointment only

Smoking Cessation Clinic - By appointment only (appointments from 0800 1690169)

Counselling - By GP referral only 

Friday

Phlebotomy 7.30am – 11.50am  - By appointment only

Paediatric Orthoptic Clinic – by referral only

Physiotherapy Clinic  – by referral only

Speech and Language Therapy - by referral only

 Your GP, school nurse or health visitor can refer you to one of the specialist clinic held at Burnham Clinic.

You can self refer to the podiatry service providing you meet the necessary criteria.

 HEALTH VISITOR

The following Child Health Clinics are held and attended by a Health Visitor (no appointment is needed except where indicated):

 United Reform Church, Burnham on Crouch - 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month 1.30pm-3pm

Southminster Memorial Hall - Every 1st Tuesday 9.30 to 10.45am.

Tillingham Village Hall - 4th Tuesday 1.30 to 3pm

Dr Hodkinson's Surgery ( Formerly Hawstead) Mayland- 1st Wednesday 1.30 to 3pm

Hearing Help Essex

Attend the Clinic to help with hearing aid difficulties or queries on the 1st Monday of the month between 2pm and 4pm. 

 

Hearing aid batteries

Hearing aid batteries and tubing are also distributed during clinic opening hours.
