Burnham has a history of National, European, World and Olympic Champions who learned their trade on the waters of the Crouch.
Burnham
Sailing Club has the largest Junior section with sailing every
Friday evening from April to September.
Burnham sailing Club organises a Junior Regatta in September where they not only race but joy fun events like crabbing.
Royal Corinthian Yacht Club have the next largest Junior Section ( 8 to 18 yrs) who they call 'The Otters'.
The Otters have been providing skills to young people on the Crouch since 1930.
Otter week which is held annually in July provides a week of Junior Sailing that draws young people from the whole of the UK.
The Royal Burnham Yacht Club also have a cadet section who provide regular sailing on the Crouch.
They hold a sailing week in August for Juniors.
