Marine Police
From
their base at Station Road, Burnham on Crouch , Essex Police Marine Unit
covers the whole of the Essex Coastline.
The
responsibilities include dealing with marine related crime, counter
terrorism , marine accident prevention and investigation, drugs
interception,marine wildlife crime, escorting vulnerable marine targets
and marine security
Marine watch is co-ordinated from the Marine Unit base.
The Unit use 24 ft ribs capable of speeds of up to 70 mph and Patrol Boats including Alert IV and 2 Jetski's.
